Habitat for Humanity of Wake County Build Day Kick Off
Saturday, September 30th from 8:15am until 3:30pm
Put your faith into action by joining Habitat for Humanity of Wake County along with members of our congregation as well as members from many other congregations throughout the Wake County area to help build homes for families in need of affordable housing. Volunteering with Habitat Wake is a fun, hands-on way to bring our community together to build the foundation for more fulfilled lives. This event presents the opportunity for all faiths to come together serving as one to build a stronger community and all ages are welcome. La Estrella Resplandeciente
La Estrella Resplandeciente (The Shining Star) meets on Saturdays in a church building in Stan Hope, NC.
La Estrella is a joint mission of the Capital and Heritage districts of the NC Conference. It weaves together the Church’s work in welcoming the stranger and serving children and their families in an example of Christian unity.
Saturday Gathering Includes:
+ Worship & devotion
+ Tutoring in reading and math
+ Enrichment activities (science experiments, arts & crafts, etc.)
+ Recreation
+ Nutritious meal and snacks
+ Field Trips are offered quarterly throughout the year, including trips to museums, universities,
local farms, etc.
Ways to help:
Assist fellow church members with our Missions Team along with neighboring churches once a month to prepare bag lunches for approximate 40 children and a few adults who attend this program and deliver to Stan Hope, NC.
Help with chaperoning, general needs, and weekly lessons at Wonderful Saturday.
Monetary donations so that we can continue serving children and youth through this ministry.
